Our “Deep Throat” at Bemsee Towers today broke the news of a significant booking for the 2014 race season, with as yet unconfirmed reports suggesting that loud guitars, classic rock and an excuse for dressing up will be once again returning to the Hexagon at Brands Hatch for the mega end of season party-bash/piss-up thing on the 4th of October.
Marking a return to the type of celebration previously seen in 2010 and 2011 when Smoke & Mirrors rocked up a storm at the same venue, a new beat combo called Sons of Liberty have apparently been confirmed for 2014, with a series of coded emails and plain brown envelopes having been exchanged under the cover of passing on “season’s greetings” or some other Christmas/New Year related nonsense with Colonel M. Dommett of the 3rd Bemsee Rangers (Planning Division).
At the time of writing details are sketchy and almost everything seems purposely clouded in a blanket of confusion and subterfuge, but reading between the lines of the so far sketchy reports made available after two or three hard core late night drinking sessions, it seems like the night will have Southern Rock theme - with all the classics from Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and the Black Crowes potentially included in the set, which based on the length of the guitar solo in the Skynyrd classic Freebird could go on for hours……………
Anyway, dust off them Dixie banners, Confederate jackets, Stetsons and snakeskin boots, ‘cause it’s gonna be a bourbon fuelled ho-down to remember!!
