TZR250 Venhill Quick Action Throttle part numbers.

Postby Back-Marcus » Mon Feb 28, 2011 3:50 pm

Hi,

Maybe Kev could make this sticky?

To stop any confusion Venhill have now created Venhill part numbers for the TZR250 kit so if you want either a throttle cable or the full kit these are the part numbers to use when you phone through an order.

Full kit for TZR250 race bike (~no oil pump)- Y01-4-068/JB
Cables only - Y01-4-068.
Goran has told me that the prices are the same so....

Complete Kit £66.42 (VAT not incl.)
- 3 cables
- Junction Box (244 Honda)
- Twist Grip

Cables only kit £33.00 (VAT not incl.)
#79
Team Gibson

Bit of Gaffer tape, couple of cable ties and it will be fine.

Hi Marcus,

I have had a call from Caroline at Venhill today; the price she has charged me for a complete kit - 3 x cables, junction box and twist grip is the same as you quote. She did not quote part numbers but said that they have half a dozen spare incase any other YPMers want one.

Mine is on it's way, I plan to fit it at the weekend so I will let you know how it goes.

Trev, it will come set on the endurance setting, switch it to quick action if you want an on off switch :)

I'm puzzled now :?

Fitted mine as it came in the box, and having read the above and looked at instructions I cant see how it would affect an on/off switch? As far as I can work out you turn the internal throttle cam through 180 - which makes no diff to the outside -or am I missing something ?

Thanks for the advice Kev, I will switch it over. What exactly is endurance setting out of interest?

Longer travel is all, I use enduro setting, not quite as long as the standard throttle but gives me more control.

The longer setting on the Venhill is fine - it's only 1/4 turn anyway. I'm not aware of anyone using the short setting - it's 1/8th turn, so it might be a bit lairy in the wet. I have enough trouble spitting myself off as it is! ;)
